Eric Rhoads had stated in a recent talk he'd like to see folks paint larger en plein air, so I find myself rising to that challenge lately - especially with this piece. I had originally set out to paint the sunflower field at this location, but the zinnia field captivated me and won my eye for composition. I completed this in a single 8 hour session - aiming to stay true to the one session spirit of plein air painting.
