When my grandfather was a young boy, he went to Taos, New Mexico with his mother, who was an artist. Nearly 80 years later, I went to Taos, New Mexico with my mother to honor my great-grandmother's memory. Since my grandpa was too old to make the trip, I painted "Taos in August" for him so he could enjoy the landscape and know he was with us in our hearts.
